ABOUT ME

I was born in Phortse, a historic village in the Khumbu region known for its Everest summiteers. Climbing has always been a part of my heritage. I’m grateful to have turned my passion for mountains into a career, now working as a freelance high-altitude cinematographer and guide. By combining my mountaineering expertise with a love for capturing beautiful moments, I find joy in sharing these experiences and helping others explore the world’s most breathtaking peaks.

I

embarked on my journey in the adventure tourism sector at a very early stage, a passion that began in 2008 when I first encountered the thrilling challenge of ice climbing. In 2012, I successfully completed my trekking guide certification and basic mountaineering course, which laid the foundation for my guiding career across various trekking expeditions throughout Nepal.

The Khumbu Climbing Center has been instrumental in shaping my mountaineering path, where I received both basic and advanced ice climbing training. This experience, coupled with continued education in advanced mountaineering techniques and first-aid, enhanced my ability to guide safely and effectively. In 2019, I achieved a significant milestone by completing the first winter ascent of Luza Peak (5,926m) alongside two Sherpa companions.

My mountaineering pursuits have taken me from the majestic peaks of the Himalayas and Karakoram to the technical summits of the Alps. Along the way, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the world’s most renowned climbing figures, including Conrad Anker & Jimmy Chin. To date, I have summited 16 times 8,000-meter peaks and participated in numerous high-altitude expeditions, contributing to high-altitude documentation for prestigious organizations such as The North Face, the National Geographic Society and the Red Bull Media.

In 2023, I became a part of the athlete community with HIMALI, an esteemed outdoor gear brand based in the United States. Through this partnership, we aim to create a positive impact on mountain communities. Additionally, I currently serve as the lead ice climbing instructor at the Khumbu Climbing Center in Phortse, where I continue to share my knowledge and experience with aspiring climbers, fostering the next generation of mountain adventurers.

Driven by a profound curiosity to experience and learn from various adventure activities, I find peace and purpose in the mountains, often capturing their beauty through my lens. I am deeply grateful to my family and friends, whose unwavering support has been a cornerstone of my journey in the mountains.
